Eleanna Stratou

Eleanna Stratou was born in 2001 and began violin lessons at the "Polyrhythmia" Conservatory of Preveza with Natalia Volckening-Tsoupra. Since 2017, her teacher has been Giorgos Demertzis in Athens. She is a graduate of the Munich Academy of Music and Theater (Hochschule für Musik und Theater München) from where she obtained a Bachelor with Honors in the class of Prof. Lena Neudauer with a scholarship from the Deutscher Akademischer Ausstauschdienst (DAAD). Since October 2023, she has been studying at the Cologne Academy of Music and Dance (Hochschule für Musik und Tanz) in the class of Prof. Mihaela Martin.
He has won 1st Prize in the Panhellenic Competition "FILON" (2015), received an annual tuition scholarship (2015) from the Athens State Orchestra as part of a program funded by the "Stavros Niarchos" Foundation, won 1st Prize in the International Moscow Music Competition (2021) in violin and 1st Prize in chamber music (piano trio) in the same competition. He has taken part in masterclasses with, among others, Christoph Poppen, Iason Keramidis, Benjamin Schmid, Noe Inui, Ariadne Daskalakis, Dirk Mommertz (Fauré Quartet), Pierre Colombet (Quator Ebene).
He has given chamber music concerts in Switzerland, Austria, Italy, Germany, Russia and Greece. He recently collaborated as a special member in a concert with the National Symphony Orchestra of ERT and in a concert of the Munich Philharmonic Orchestra. He has performed the world premiere of the String Quartet Op. 81b by the British composer Nimrod Borenstein at the Stavros Niarchos Hall of the Greek National Opera in collaboration with Carnegie Hall. He is a member of the Isny Opernfestival and also a member of the Ensemble Oktopus of the Munich Academy of Music under the direction of Professor Konstantia Gourzi, with whom he has taken part in concerts recorded for the Bavarian Radio (Bayerischer Rundfunk).
