George Alexander Chliavoras


George Alexander Chliavoras was born in New York in 1996. At the age of 6 he moved to Heraklion, Crete and enrolled in the Municipal Conservatory of Heraklion, studying with Irakli Thanassi and Michalis Spyridakis before obtaining his violin diploma with Miltiades Papastamou in 2019. From 2019 he has continued his violin studies with distinguished violinist Georgios Demertzis, with an emphasis on chamber music. In 2020 he obtained a Master’s degree in Chemical Engineering from the National Technical University of Athens.

He has completed the two-year “Academy for Young Musicians” of the Athens State Orchestra and has performed multiple times with the Armonia Atenea Orchestra, the Athens State Orchestra, the Greek Young Symphony Orchestra et. al. He has participated in chamber music and musical interpretation workshops with musicians such as Aggelos Liakakis, Simos Papanas, Titos Gouvelis, Evenos quartet, Apollonas Grammatikopoulos et. al. He has performed in numerous chamber music festivals alongside prominent musicians such as Georgios Demertzis, Vassilis Varvaressos, Simos Papanas, Dimos Goudaroulis, David Bogorad et. al. and is currently an active member of the New Cretan Quartet.
