Gerasimos Gennatas, Actor – Director

He was born in Athens. He studied in the Department of Biology at the University of Athens and graduated from the Veaki Drama School. Since 1989, he has been working in theater both as an actor and as a director. He has starred in numerous productions of both contemporary and classical repertoire. He has collaborated with most Regional Municipal Theaters (DIPETHE), the National Theatre of Greece, the National Theatre of Northern Greece, as well as with many theaters and companies in Athens. He has also worked in cinema and starred in several television series.

In 1998, he was honored by the Association of Greek Theatre Critics for his performance in The Servant of Two Masters. In 1999, the play National with the Greats was the Greek entry at the Bonn Biennale. In 2023, he presented Kokkalo at The Tank Theatre on Broadway, and in 2024, in Sofia and Plovdiv at the International Monodrama Festival, he performed a play on the life of Antonin Artaud, written by Ioli Andreadi.

He has directed productions such as Veterans – Olympic Demonstrations on the Road, Seven Richter, Caveman, Eros Monopteros o Planis, among others. He taught for three years at the Drama School “Praxi 7” and for two years at the “Petra” School. In 2003, he contributed to the organization of a workshop series offered by the Patras Regional Municipal Theatre (DIPETHE) to students of the Department of Theatre Studies at the University of Patras.

Special mention should be made of his long-standing collaboration (since 2013) with the Athens State Orchestra, during which he has participated in four productions designed to familiarize audiences with classical music.
