
Kostis Siragakis
Kostas Seiragakis was born in Rethymno, Crete in 2000. He started playing clarinet in the Rethymno Municipal Philharmonic Orchestra with Vangelis Papadakis where he is still serving as principal clarinet in the band as well as in the orchestra with numerous concerts all over Greece, including the prestigious Athens Concert Hall. He continued studying for his diploma with the distinguished clarinetist of the Athens State Orchestra, Kostas Tzekos, which he received in 2023 with excellent remarks and first prize. He studied music theory at the Monochordo Conservatory where he received his degree. He studies in the Department of Music Studies of the Ionian University. He has participated in seminars in Greece and abroad with Marco Thomas, Philippe Cuper, Robert Oderaigner, Efstathio Kiosoglou, Spyros Tzekos, Spyros Mourikis, Ronald Van Spaendonk Nikos Ginos, Harald Hendrichs, He is the principal clarinetist of the Philharmonic Orchestra Mantzaros, the Orchestra of the Ionian University and the Youth Symphony Orchestra of Crete of which he has been a member since its first year of operation. He has played with the Athens Youth Symphony Orchestra, with the European Orchestra EL SISTEMA in 2017 at the Odeon of Herodus Atticus and with the New Cretan Quartet under the supervision of the distinguished Greek violinist George Demertzis. He has collaborated as a soloist with the Youth Symphony Orchestra of Crete under the baton of Miltos Logiadis at the Heraklion Concert Hall.
