
Lina Zachari was born in Heraklion, Crete in 1999. She is a graduate with honors of the Athens Conservatory in the Composition class of Pericles Koukos and the Orchestra Conducting class of conductor Loukas Karytinos. She holds a diploma in piano (Excellent - 1st prize) and music theory.
As a composer, she has composed music for small instrumental and vocal ensembles, string orchestra, solo instruments, music for animation, for the theater, set poetry, a symphonic poem, etc. Among them stands out the operatic monodrama “Charlotte: lips sing when they can't kiss”, which is scheduled to be performed next season, directed by Roulas Paterakis and with Ioanna Fortis in the title role.
She has collaborated with institutions such as the Alternative Stage of the National Opera, the Center for Contemporary Music Research, the Drama School of the National Theatre, the Lyric Theater of Crete, the Friends’ of Music Association, the Chórεs vocal ensemble, etc.
She has participated in workshops among which the Workshop for Young Composers stands out (December 2021, Alternative Stage ELLS) with the Greek American composer George Tsontakis where she was selected, after a competition, among the six active participants.
As a pianist he has attended classes at the Trinity Laban Conservatoire of Music and Dance in London with Y. Lebedeva, where he was admitted after passing exams, and in Boston University and New England Conservatory in Boston with A. R. Rivera, C. Finehouse, K. Papadakis. He has given numerous personal recitals, having a wide repertoire.
She is a founding member of the Arte Libera company aiming at production and promotion of original music, theater, and music-theatrical actions of modern aesthetics far from dogmatism and economic practices.
