MARKOS MOISSIDIS
BIOGRAPHICAL NOTE

Born in Athens in 1959, Markos Moissidis has spent most of his life immersed in musical scores, concert halls, and music archives, uncovering elements about the music and lives of composers from the Middle Ages to the present day.

Through his own works, as well as through the thoughts, reflections, and creations of other composers, he seeks to explore the mystery of music and understand the complex processes behind musical creation.

His works have been performed in Greece and internationally, and he has given lectures in various venues, including the Athens Concert Hall, the Delphi Cultural Centre, and conservatories.

He served as Artistic Director of the ERT Symphony Orchestra and has collaborated, among others, with the Experimental Stage of Thessaloniki, the Dance Theatre of Zouzou Nikoloudi, the Vocal Art Workshop of the Goulandris Foundation, the Ancient Drama Workshop of Lefteris Voyatzis, and the Athens 2004 Cultural Olympiad, where he worked as a producer for recordings of works by Greek composers as part of a multi-album tribute by the Ministry of Culture.

From 1981 to 1985 and from 1989 to the present day, he has worked as a producer for the Third Programme of the Greek National Radio (ERA), presenting regular programmes such as “Composer of the Week,” “Musical Crossroads,” “Vox Aeterna,” and others.
