Before the Storm

Sun 31.8

CHAMBER MUSIC FESTIVAL 2025

In times of peace, Art spreads its wings, undistracted and free to experiment with the new and the unknown, as well as to gaze upon Beauty with imagination and inspiration. Within this spirit, the Czech composer Leoš Janáček and the French composer Maurice Ravel created some of their finest works: Janáček, in his brilliant Concertino, playfully experiments with imitating the sounds of animals, while Ravel, in his Rapsodie Espagnole, draws inspiration from Spanish rhythms and colors, blending traditional melodies with modern orchestration and subtle nuances.

Likewise today, the promising Greek composer (and outstanding viola performer) Antonis Tzivenis carves new paths for the string repertoire through his imaginative music—paths well worth discovering!
